(Top Left) Heel Magic and Heel Balm
Those of us who often wear sandals and slippers would be most probably have heels that with ugly lines etched into the skin, called fissures that sometimes bleed when we start peeling at the cracked skin. These cracked lines are usually caused by dryness or thickening of the skin. Hence regular moisturising with a body lotion right after shower is essential to maximise hydrating the heels.

Dermal Therapy Heel Magic, $15.50

REVIEW:
This balm-stick seems to have a thick consistency and more nourishing than the Heel Balm. The great thing about it is non-oily and does not need massaging into the skin, so great for use in the car or when you wish to keep your hands clean. Personally, I thought I saw results sooner when using this stick than the other heel balm.

How does it work?
Urea improves skin hydration by increasing the uptake of water from the dermis layer of the skin.

Olive Oil quickly penetrates skin to hydrate it. Antioxidants like vitamins A and E help repair and renew damaged skin, as they stimulate cells and return skin to firmer and smoother, and healthier state.

Beeswax soothes and softens heels as it helps skin retain moisture.

How to use: Rub the stick over cracked heels morning and night right after towel drying after shower or bath. When skin is soft from prolonged exposure to water during a shower or bath, moisturisers that are applied on it are more easily absorbed into the skin. For this, you can opt not to massage it into the skin, though I prefer to massage it into the skin. Suitable for diabetics. May sting when used on severely deep cracks. Only for adults.

Dermal Therapy Heel Balm, $6.90
I used Dermal Therapy Heel Balm for three days and pronto, the deep lines miraculously disappeared.

REVIEW
This light cream does not leave heels  oily as it is quickly absorbed into the skin. It feels subtly cooling on the skin as it is being massaged. The nifty 28g packaging makes it easy to store into the handbag to be carried around and also in your hand luggage when taking a flight.

How does it work?
Urea intensively improves hydration in the upper most layer of the skin by boosting skin’s ability to draw water from the dermis layer of the skin. Urea is also proven to reduce and prevent water loss.

Centipeda Cunninghamii is an Australian herb clinically proven to nourish skin to soften the hardened thickened skin.

Emollients like lanolin, petrolatum, sodium PCA, shea butter and aloe vera helps restore and maintain skin hydration. Shea butter moisturises skin and its content of vitamins A and E, fats and acids leave skin softer, smoother and more supple.

This formulation is diabetic-friendly.

How to use: Use twice a day, right after towel drying after shower or bath, until results are seen. It can also be used as a preventative moisturiser to keep feet soft and smooth. Suitable for diabetics. May sting when used on severely deep cracks. Only for adults.
