REVIEW

#YSL Kiss & Blush gives #cheeks a #healthy touch of colour and doubles as a lip blush or colour. It offers more than a cheek tint when the formula is not over blended. I experimented with Shades No 2, 5 and 9, but used No 2 most of the time. No 9 leaves my cheeks with a healthy flush of colour. No 5 is so intense, on first application, I spent more time smoothing out the colour to lighten it. With No 2, one application offers a healthy colour on my cheeks. For more intensity, I dab another 3 dots of colour on my cheeks and carefully blended. Place the sponge applicator head flat on skin to get more colour transferred onto cheeks in a jiffy, but take note that until the blending skill is mastered the saying 'more haste less speed' applies here, as more time may be spent blending to tone down the colour.

What I love about this #Kiss&Blush lip and #cheekcolour is that it makes makeup fun and enhances the application experience with a subtle sweet floral scent, which quickly disappears as it is blended on the skin. It blends easily with no uneven streaks and best of all it transforms into a silky powdery finish-not sticky at all. All the shades when blended leaves a healthy subtle pink tone on the cheeks, which is interesting to note. 

I walked out of my home with an intense cheek colour, and noticed that it transforms into a light healthy touch of colour on my cheeks. (Please see pictures below) It works like a foolproof cheek colour. A great option, if you are not very good with the powder blusher.

Cheeks are blended such that they are obvious for the picture. Blend till it is subtler before walking out of the flat especially when wearing hot red lip colours.

Oil and balancing powders ensure the comfort and long wear of the texture that blends on both lips and cheeks. The colour stays put while remaining matte and radiant.

APPLICATION TIPS:

Use one shade and dot the formula on the lips and cheeks with the applicator. Blend with your fingertips until it leaves a hint of colour on your cheeks for a soft makeup finish. For a more intense finish, apply a second layer by using the pearl applicator to fully spread the formula on the lips or cheeks. To be more playful and daring, mix and match two shades on lips and cheeks and vice versa.

  

With the darker shades like No 1, 4 and 5, it’s best to blend, wait a while before layering over with more colour for more intensity. When using these more intense shades, apply a few dots (3 dots) with the applicator just below the cheek bones, or on cheeks and blend with downward strokes towards the jaw bones. Continue blending until you have reached your desired intensity. It is important not to leave a hard edge around the cheek colour for a more natural finish. To do so, run a clean finger lightly over the edges once and the difference between the cheek colour and your natural skin colour becomes less obvious.

When using subtle shades, apply a second coat and blend again. Take note not to over-blend. Remember to smooth out hard edges and when using more intense lip colours, keep cheek colour subtle for balance.
