Safety_Soak Your Mugs

I found some stains at the bottom of this mug which could not be scrubbed off with a soft scourer. So the stained area was soaked in an abrasive kitchen formula. This soft scrub (aka cream cleanser) is one of my favourite kitchen helpers as it keeps my pots and pans spotless.

Precaution is Cure
One word of caution though, a chemical graduate cautioned me that after removing any stains with such strong detergent, wash the item with a dish washing detergent, rinse well and soak the mug or pot to be sure that any residue from the cleanser is removed. The types of chemicals used in such cleansers include chemicals such as solvents, suffactants and non-foaming agents.

After scouring the internet for more information about how safe soft scrubs are, Soft scrub sandybox.com throws up some information on their soft cleansers. They encourage proper rinsing after using soft scrubs to remove burnt food on pots and pans. You would realise that after touching a soft scrub cream there is a slimy layer that is not easily removed or washed off. So perhaps we should all pay some attention to proper cleansing of the item cleaned.

In this day and age when most of us depend on house helps to get chores around the home done, the only way you can be sure that your family health is protected to ensure your glasses and pots and pans are soaked overnight, especially after such a strong chemical has been used to clean them. Not that your house help is lazy, but sometimes we forget to do certain things too.

There's no need to nag or sneak up behind her to catch her in action. When it is soaked overnight, just make a quick glance at your kitchen sink to see that the items are being soaked, and you know it is done.

Rest well this weekend.
