Rejuvenating Beauty Treatment @ a vintage metropolitan beauty salon

REVIEW/TRIAL
Walking into Beaute by KEW is refreshing. The clean decor with a touch of vintage metropolitan edge makes me think that I've walked into a beauty salon in town especially with the absence of cramped spaces. Dark wood cupboards make great visual contrast with the white product packaging that decorate the shelves and the retro white marble flooring with specks of green and black give the salon an elegant feel, very unexpected of a beauty salon located in a public housing estate. The rooms are squarish and spacious, great for those who prefer spaciousness to tiny cubicles. At the back of the salon is the waiting area, hidden from walk-in guests and fully air-conditioned, and a beautifully tiled wash room.

Welcoming Aroma
I love the aroma of essential oils that welcomed me into the space the moment the door opened. As I stepped into Beaute by KEW, the tension in my body quickly gave in to the persuasive powers of the aromatherapy that filled the salon, as if to say "I am ready for some pampering rejuvenation!"

                             

Surrendering to the powers of wisdom
Today, May Teng, my therapist recommended working on my dull skin tone and hyperpigmentation, and to a lesser extent, my sagging skin, after cleansing my skin and attending to some oil clots. The Power DPL (aka Dynamic Pulsed Light) machine offers a blend of IPL with laser, which can be adjusted to offer different levels of intensity of hyperpigmentation and skin firming treatment at the same time. Massage: May spent a substantial amount of time massaging my face, back and shoulders after treating my skin with the Power DPL machine.

Results: Immediately after May worked on half of my face with Power DPL and organic lightening serum, I could see the definition of my newly sculpted cheeks while lying down. May proceeded to smooth a Santaverde soft mask over my face after completing the Power DPL treatment over my whole face. At the end of the treatment, the dull skin and yellow tinge that I walked in with was replace by a new brighter complexion and less obvious freckles, and my features were more pronounced and lifted. May had a proud smile of satisfaction on her face at the end of the session. The ultimate test is of course my husband’s opinion. By the time he saw me it was almost 6 hours later and he noted the sculpted cheeks and brighter complexion. Success! This beauty treatment has lived up to its promise. The great thing about having a b beauty treatment administered with high technological equipments like IPL, DPL or Infra-Red Rays, the benefits of the treatments will continue to improve skin condition over the next few days after the treatment. This is the reason, my skin looked better the next day as captured in the photographs below.

Brow grooming: May is rather careful and precise when neatening my brows. I am happy that my brows beautifully shaped even without any brief from me. It was so good, even the makeup artist who gave me a makeover a few days later commented on it.

Knowing about my erratic hormonal conditions, she went out of her way to make me comfortable. Her massaging strokes are firm, consistent and relaxing. When it comes to cleansing the skin and extraction, she was rather thorough. The products used at Beaute by Kew are rather effective in calming my skin after the extraction session, such that I left the Beaute by Kew with a complexion glowing like some Korean star, without a single trace of redness from the extractions.
