TRIAL Bifesta 2-in-1 Cleansing Washes

Bifesta water-base cleansers are a few of my favourite makeup removers. I love the two makeup removers I used right up to the last drop - Bifesta Non-Rinse Cleansing Lotion Moist for dry and sensitive skin and Bifesta Eye Makeup Remover. These two removed my makeup thoroughly.

With this pleasant experience, I look forward to checking out this latest range of water-based foaming wash Bifesta 2-in-1 Cleansing Wash, which removes makeup and cleanses skin at the same time. The difference between Bifesta 2-in-1 Cleansing Wash and the existing one is the very fine foam this new range depends on to remove makeup, grime and dirt from the skin and needs to be rinsed off.

To create the fine foam, I used a mesh (available at Daiso). Simply rub two parts of the damp mesh with Bifesta 2-in-1 Cleansing Wash  together as you would when washing a piece of cloth. With the right amount of water the foam created would be so fine that it will not drip or fall off hands. Please see picture below.

Trial experience

I tried creating the foam by massaging the transparent gel-like liquid in wet hands, and found that the resulting foam is not as fine, not as much and it drips off the hands.

With the fine foam created with the mesh, massaging it over the face is plush experience as the foam is so fine. It has an invisible "tension" or "net" to keep the foam between the palms and the face as I massaged such that It seems like I'm rubbing the face with the foam as my palms do not touch the skin at all during the massage. As such the foam cleans and lifts and removes dirt and makeup trapped in skin pores. After using this wash, I rinsed and used a cotton pad soaked with toner to wipe off any residue left on my skin, and the cotton pad looks clean.

VERDICT:

I love the no-drip mousse-like foam, which means I do not have to lean over the sink to avoid dirtying my clothes or have foam dripping all over the area around the sink or bathroom floor. My skin appears clean without any trace of the day’s makeup after cleansing. However, for those who tend to break out, it's best to monitor skin condition if you intend not to double cleanse. But I would attest that with these hydrating wash double-cleansing with the right cleanser for your skin type would not leave skin tight and dry.

The variety of three foaming wash to hydrate dry skin, firm skin or brighten dull skin means I can choose the cleanser of the day depending on my skin condition. I did wonder why they didn’t use a pump bottle with foam creating nozzle, so that we can skip the foam creating step, however, I’m sure that doing so would raise the retail price of the foaming wash altogether, making it unaffordable to students.

 HOW DOES IT WORK?

These quick-foaming and oil-dissolving Bifesta 2-in-1 Cleansing Wash dissolves makeup and grime, removes dirt in one step. This convenience makes the wash a hit among time-starved Japanese office ladies in Tokyo.  With our fast paced lifestyle this makeup remover and facial cleanser would be a gem to busy Singaporean women too.

The three varieties treat skin as it cleanses – it hydrates dry/dehydrate skin, brighten dull skin, and refreshes tired skin.

TECHNOLOGY

The Micelle Technology Like all foaming facial wash or cleaners, it uses surfactants for their lathering properties. Bifesta uses hydrophilic and lipophilic surfactants that wrap and seal impurities and makeup residue on skin before lifting them off the skin as the foam is being massaged over skin.

Plus-Ion Hyaluronic Acid Structure is a moisture magnet to intensively replenish moisture in parched skin when it is being cleansed and after cleansing as it leaves skin comfortable and soft after the foam is rinsed off.

Ceramide, green tea, saxifrage extract, coenzyme Q10, vitamins B and E are the  high performance ingredients packed into the respective products in this range of cleansers. High performance ingredients or actives are usually found only in skin lotions within a skincare range.

Effectiveness of the Foaming Wash

▪ takes off tubular mascaras faster and more thoroughly than its competitors. For me, I still prefer to use a waterproof makeup remover to cleanse off my waterproof mascara.

▪ a test is done to leave it on skin overnight on mo cha and it leaves the fewest cracks on it, proving that Bifesta cleansers are more efficient at protecting skin moisture and at hydrating skin during cleansing and after cleansing. This is because these foam cleansers contain 20% more beauty lotion (and high performance ingredients) than most cleansers, two kinds of sugar ingredients and three kinds of ion-based cleansing ingredients which plump up skin with moisture, and the foam created does not dry skin.
